The Vineyards
Thirty-five organically farmed hectares on the first hills of the Val Nure: it is here, among the rows, that the quality of every bottle is born.
An amphitheatre
between 180 and 350 metres
The vineyards cover 35 hectares, all in Albarola di Vigolzone, in the heart of the Colli Piacentini, and have been farmed organically for several years, in full respect of the environment and the natural balance of the land.
The position on the first hills guarantees particularly favourable growing conditions: day-night temperature swings, together with constant ventilation, encourage a slow, balanced ripening of the grapes, preserving their aromas, freshness and elegance.
The slopes face mainly east, south and west, so the vines enjoy sunlight throughout the day; north-facing exposures are almost absent, and ripening is optimal in every vintage.
No two vineyards
are alike
Each plot has its own character, shaped by soil, exposure, vine age and variety. This is why there is no standardised management: from pruning to canopy work to yield regulation, every intervention is calibrated to that vineyard's needs, accompanying its natural expression without upsetting its balance.
The second principle is adaptation: climate change alters the growing conditions of the vine every year. Farming today means observing, interpreting and adjusting constantly, with a dynamic, never rigid approach. Organic farming demands a continuous presence in the field, high specialisation and much manual work.
The underlying conviction is simple and profound: there are no great wines without great grapes. Selection is not born in the cellar; it takes shape during the growing season, row by row: only when the vineyard offers an abundance of quality can the most rigorous choices be made.
